Founded in 1967, Akme Meats is a family business in constant evolution in the field of poultry processing and distribution. Our establishment has been certified HACCP since 2009 and is in the process of being SQF/GFSI certified.

In 1987, John Vasilakos came on board and quickly learned the trade from bottom and has worked his way to VP. He has the supported the sales team with his competitiveness and productivity.

Being a true family business, in 2002, Mr. Spiro Plessas joined the team with a clear vision, to expand the variety of offerings and to widen the distribution network. Armed with a culinary and his knowledge of gourmet specialty products, Mr. Plessas is always experimenting with new recipes. His introduction of products such as chicken breasts wrapped with bacon and marinated skewers has propelled the company to unprecedented growth.
